Alchemist CDC’s CalFresh at Farmers’ Markets program operates CalFresh processing at multiple farmers’ markets throughout Sacramento County. The CalFresh program offers qualifying lower income individuals financial assistance in purchasing food for themselves and their families. Farmers’ markets are a great asset to communities, and can lead to improved health for area residents. By making it easier for lower-income populations to purchase food at farmers’ markets, these community assets will become more equitable and accessible to all individuals. CalFresh at Farmers’ Markets volunteers assist in processing SNAP transactions, distribute EBT and Market Match vouchers, and assist in redemption of vouchers from farmers’ market vendors. Elk Grove Farmers' Market 8245 Laguna Blvd Elk Grove, CA 95758 The market is open from 8am-12pm. The CalFresh booth is open for customer transactions from 8am to 11:50am and for vendor redemptions from 10am-12:30pm. This market is managed by the Certified Farmers' Markets of Sacramento, and the CalFresh Booth is regularly staffed by our Program Assistant, River. The market is located in the Laguna Gateway shopping center by Red Robin. There is ample parking around the market, and the closest restrooms are at Red Robin and Sprouts.
